Powder Coating
We can give you the durability of heat-fused powders for metal substrates. Powders are available in many colors and types: polyesters, urethanes, epoxies, etc. Parts can be selectively masked for special applications.

How Does Powder Coating Work?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the products to be coated.

The parts to be coated are electrically grounded, so that the charged particles adhere to them until melted and fused into a solid coating in a curing oven.

The result is an attractive, durable, high-quality finish. The powder coating process itself offers another advantage -- it is environmentally friendly...virtually pollution-free!

Unlike liquid paint, no solvents are used, so only negligible amounts of VOCs are released into the air. In addition, unused or oversprayed powder can be recovered, so any waste is minimal and can be disposed of easily and safely.

Liquid Coating
We can give you the diversity of liquid with a wide range of base compositions, finish properties and textures. Substrates may include metals, plastics and composites. Coatings range from water base and standard bake enamels to polyurethanes, epoxies, and other specialized coatings.

RFS (EMI) Coating
We can provide protection against electro-magnetic interference by selectively applying nickel, copper or silver to plastic enclosures.

CARC Coating -Chemical Agent Resistance Coatings
AFI is one of the few coating companies that offers CARC coatings in Minnesota.
CARC is a specification - driven coating process. AFI can do the entire process; coating, pretreatment and application all under one roof. Please call our quoting department to inquire about CARC coating.

(NEW) Protective Coating for Circuit Boards
Associated Finishing can now apply a silicone base sealer called HumiSeal by Chase Corporation to seal the boards from moisture and enhance the life of circuit boards. Our painters use grounding straps to protect the circuit boards. While applying the coating we personally handle them not allowing any static electricity to affect the board in any way. If you have any questions about this process or the different products we can spray, please contact Associated Finishing at quotes@associatedfinishing.com or call us at 866-345-5861 and ask for Sales.

AFI provides an array of finishes including, Chemical Resistance (CARC), powder, liquid, polyurethane, enamel, epoxy, RF Shielding, ployesters, urethanes, hybrids. Offering hundreds of colors, clear, translucent, textures, wrinkle, metallic, high temperature, U.V. Protected and Zinc Rich Primers.
